Homemade Vegetable Soup
Looking for an Easy Vegetable Soup Recipe Like Grandma Used to Make?As a kid, I used to love my mother’s homemade vegetable soup. In the fall and winter it brought comfort and even years later when I made it for my husband, he quickly developed a taste for it as well.
With simple, inexpensive ingredients my mother’s homemade vegetable soup was very easy to put together. Although she had no written recipe for her soup, I followed her around as she made it one afternoon many years ago and made notes of the ingredients and quantities so that I could replicate her recipe.
Below you’ll find her homemade vegetable soup recipe from my childhood as well as other recipes from across the internet that may also suit your tastes.
About My Mother’s Homemade Vegetable SoupActually a Homemade Vegetable Beef SoupMy mother made this vegetable discount oakleys soup in the fall and winter mostly. Some fresh vegetables were harder to come by and thus some of the vegetables were canned. The advantage of course, was that the preparation and cooking time was reduced. I’ve written the recipe to conform to exactly how she made it.
This homemade vegetable soup recipe includes beef; it’s not a vegetarian dish. It should probably be more accurately described as a homemade vegetable beef soup. However, if you choose to leave out the beef it would obviously be more vegetarian friendly although it would still have the beef broth!
Either way, this is an affordable and easy soup to put together. If you’re looking for a chicken vegetable soup recipe or some other variety, you can look further below on this page.
The IngredientsNothing exotic here, you’ll find all of the ingredients at the local grocery store. The recipe will easily feed a family of 4 to 6.
2 medium sized potatoes (peeled/chunked) 2 carrots (sliced) 1 sweet (bell) green pepper (chunked) 1 medium sized yellow onion (chopped) 1 2 stalks of celery (sliced 1/4 1/2") 1 red delicious apple (peeled/chunked) 1 small turnip (chunked) 1 14 oz can whole kernel corn (drained) 1 14oz can green peas (drained) 64 oz V8 (or other brand) 100% vegetable juice 1 lb. beef chuck roast one can beef broth or 2 cups water with dissolved beef bouillon 1 tsp dried basil 1 tsp. oreganoSalt to taste.May use more broth as needed.
My Mother’s Easy Vegetable SoupHer homemade vegetable soup recipeThe meat can be prepared however you prefer, but my mother used a pressure cooker for her homemade vegetable soup and indeed, it produces a very tender meat.
Place the chuck roast in the pressure cooker with water. Cook for 20 30 minutes. Remove any fat and cut into bite sized pieces. Meanwhile, peel and chunk vegetables, the apple, and slice the celery. Add to the stock pot with canned or frozen vegetables. Pour in vegetable juice and beef broth (or water with bouillon) and bring to a full boil. Stir in seasonings and reduce heat to medium. Add meat once it has finished cooking in the pressure cooker.

Now that is what memories are made of homemade soup! All the years of making veggie soup and I never added an apple. I missed out on a really good ingredient, I think. Mulberry!

Definitely sounds like a hearty warming winter soup. I’ll have to try this one. I also like the apple idea seems unusual. It could be good with a little grated ginger or chili, to make it into a real winter warmer! 5

Gosport’s Wembley dream buy fake oakleys is ended From Daily Echo
Gosport’s fans, decked out in yellow and blue, were in great voice in the build up to kick off, determined to squeeze every ounce of enjoyment out of the biggest day in the club’s history.
With the majority congregated behind the goal where the unmistakable figure of goalkeeping coach Wayne Shaw put Nathan Ashmore and ex AFC Totton man Gareth Barfoot through their paces, a huge cheer went up for each and every player as their names and photos flashed up on the big screens at either end of stadium.
Mike Gosney, making his second appearance under the Wembley arch, took up his familiar role on the left wing, just as he did for AFC Totton in the 2007 FA Vase final against Truro City.
Gosport’s line up also included former Eastleigh duo Danny Smith and Andy Forbes who had famously lifted the Vase for Winchester City at Birmingham City St Andrews Ground while the new Wembley was being built.
Gosport, proudly led out by grey suited assistant manager Mick Catlin, looked just as determined as their fans to enjoy their big day and played their full part in a breasthless end to end first half played at a frantic pace.
Bennett had the first effort on goal, his looping header comfortably collected by Will Norris in the United goal.
But in the fifth minute, a mistake almost cost the Skrill Conference South underdogs as Us’ on loan Portsmouth striker Ryan Bird burst through on goal.
But, as so often this season, Borough goalkeeper Nathan Ashmore came to the rescue, blocking with his legs from point blank range.
Gosport were knocking the ball around with some confidence on the vast, carpet like Wembley surface and, if anything, United looked the more awe struck of the two sides, frequently getting pick pocketed by the tireless running of the Privett Park upstarts.
As a rousing rendition of "Gosport Borough FC you’re the finest football team the world has ever seen" filled the stadium, Borough raised their game further with Brown digging out a shot that flew straight at Norris, then Gosney bursting past one defender and buy replica oakleys squeezing between another two but not quite conjuring up the finish his determined run deserved.
Tim Sills, making his third appearance at Wembley, then fired low at Norris after a bout of Borough pressure and it wasn’t until the 24th minute that Cambridge threatened again, but some tidy defending by Forbes saved the day.
Cambridge were sloppy in the extreme at times and were almost made to pay twice with the half hour mark approaching.
First the hungry looking Bennett conjured up a shot from the left of the area which stung the fingers of Norris before rolling free. But luckily for Cambridge, there were no Gosport players waiting to pounce on the loose ball and Richard Tait was able to get it away.
But Cambridge lost possession immediately and ball came to skipper Brown who charged forward and powered a shot over from distance.
The underdogs lost some of their momentum giving away a couple of set pieces around their area and it ultimately proved their undoing.
There were huge cheers when Ryan Donaldson slammed on from the edge of the D straight into the Gosport wall.
But those jeers turned to groans seconds later when Richard Money’s Football League hopefuls seized a 37th minute lead.
Luke Berry played Bird through the middle and the Portsmouth man did the rest, neatly lobbing the advancing Ashmore to give Cambridge the upper hand at half time.
Borough’s hopes of mounting swift revenge attack went pear shaped within five minutes of the second half as the Conference Premier thoroughbreds clinically doubled their advantage.
Liam Hughes undid the Gosport defence with a raking pass from the right and Donaldson pulled left of Ashmore before arrowing a shot into the far bottom corner.
Gosport boss Alex Pike responded by taking off skipper Brown and experienced striker Sills and throwing on the young legs of Dan Woodward and former Folland Sports winger Rory Williams.
But the Hampshire side had barely had a chance to reorganise when Cambridge struck again with an hour gone.
There was an almighty scramble in the area with Borough bodies diving here, there and everywhere to try and keep the danger out.
But, following a succession of frantic blocks and goal line clearances, with Berry and Hughes both denied, the ball eventually came out to Donaldson who rifled home a crisp shot from inside the area.
Borough’s legs must have been aching, but they stubbornly refused to let the pace of the game drop and still created moments of excitement and agony for the fans packed behind Norris’s goal.
First a loose ball fell to Gosney, but he hit it straight at the Cambridge stopper. Then there was an almighty shout for a penalty when Gosney cut in menacingly from the left and replica oakleys the ball appeared to hit a defender’s arm. That was to be Gosney’s final contribution as he made way for Dan Wooden on 71 minutes.
Gosport still refused to let their heads drop and Bennett, looking cheap replica oakleys well at home on Wembley’s hallowed turf, produced some terrific footwork before unleashing a hard, low shot which bobbled agonisingly wide of Norris’s right hand post.
Great defending by Forbes inside the six yard box briefly prevented further damage at the other end, but Cambridge were not to be denied.
With all hell once again breaking loose inside the Borough area, Danny Smith slid in with a desperate tackle as sub Andy Pugh was about to fire and the referee pointed to the spot.

cringiest moments from his new vlog
The 40 year old has gone all out in his first nine videos, and while there’s snippets of fame what with him chasing Ed Sheeran and Ant and Dec on their tours there’s a fair bit from his (quite boring like the rest of us) home life too.
So to celebrate the DJ moving on from radio and embracing all things video if we can really say embracing here we have collected the louboutin replica best moments from each of his videos.
Er, enjoy:
1. Forced to wait OUTSIDE Ed Sheeran concertWe would have thought Chris of all people would have a VIP face who needs a ticket when you’re as well known as him, right? He managed to lose his Ed Sheeran pass and was forced to wait outside the barriers all of which he kindly recorded for us.
But our favourite moment was when he dropped his camera as security walked over to him, as if to kick him out.
That bit buy louboutin replica was conveniently cut out, and they eventually got inside.
2. Preparing to ’get off with’ bus load of models FAILOh Chris, sometimes it’s best to think before you speak.
The former DJ hopped on to a coach full of stunning women and models in his Week 2 vlog, and proudly stated (in front of them) he would "get off" with all of them.
We think we saw a couple shrink into their seats.
Anyway, he soon edits the clip with a caption saying he DIDN’T, although he can’t remember if he perhaps kissed Peter Andre.
Which we simply love.
3. Chris Moyles hits the gym and THIS happensChris Moyles, tight lycra, heavy weights and a camera what could possibly go wrong?
The DJ invited us in (a little too far in our opinion) to the changing rooms as he stripped down to his gym kit before heading inside and introducing us to his trainer.
What followed was nothing short of extraordinary.
We saw the slimmed down 40 year old lift some serious weights, before promptly hitting himself on the face well, it WAS going well Chris.
4. "I’m Chris, for those who thought I was George Clooney"In this week’s vlog, Chris decided he would run us through exactly how to make a fruit smoothie in case anyone was unsure.
In fact you may still be clueless, because it’s enough to throw you into a deep sleep.
Beginning by comparing himself with George Clooney which we’d hardly call wise, Chris goes on to make the fruity concoction excruciatingly slowly and we have to watch the whole thing.
We’ll never look at the drink in the same way again.
5. He’s not a Tulisa fanWhile the internet threatened to blow up when Tulisa appeared in court with dramatically different features, Chris was at the front of the critic line.
But instead of just passing comment, the DJ goes on to do what he’s called an impression of her on the stand, pursing his lips out and mimicking what she said.
We’re not sure if they Christian Lobuoutin Replicas were close before, but they won’t be now.
6. His brother rejects him on FacebookIt’s always a bit of a waiting game, seeing if a long lost friend will accept you on Facebook, but Christian Louboutin For Sale you can usually rest easy when it comes to family.

and why the Boston Red Sox don’t need homegrown stars
It OK that the Red Sox are losing their homegrown stars. Jacoby Ellsbury departed for a treasure chest full of cash and pinstripes. Jon Lester left for $20 million and a dream. It finally certain that Will Middlebrooks won be the Red Sox’s third baseman. Jackie Bradley Jr. probably won be their center fielder. Clay Buchholz could be entering his last year in a Red Sox uniform. Dustin Pedroia will be here for a while, and while Xander wholesale nfl jerseys Bogaerts and Christian Vazquez could follow suit, Bogaerts is a Scott Boras client and Vazquez has Blake Swihart breathing down his neck, so really, who to say either will be in a Red Sox uniform for his entire career?
That OK, though. Baseball (and sports in general) is moving far from the build your team and keep it ways of the past. The allure nhl jerseys china of free agency and disposability of injured or aging players makes it too easy for rosters to turnover like the Red Sox has this offseason.
At the most, the Red Sox will start the 2015 season with just 12 players on their 25 man roster who were also on the opening day roster last year (if Burke Badenhop re signs, Brandon Workman makes the squad and neither Daniel Nava or Shane Victorino is traded before April 6). The team is certainly going to have more than 50 percent turnover from it 2014 squad, which was already including faces that weren on the World Series winning roster the year before.
At least Hanley Ramirez or Pablo Sandoval could take up the empty space vacated by Ellsbury and Lester. If Ramirez hits .300 in a season full of two out RBIs, late and close home runs and walk off hits, nobody will care what he does in left field. The Red Sox will love him, and so too will those who cheer his name each day he introduced over the Fenway Park loudspeaker.
If Sandoval makes diving stops at third base, china wholesale mlb jerseys gives jumping high fives to David Ortiz and brings that postseason magic with him from San Francisco, children from Newburyport to Attleboro will be wearing Panda outfits next Halloween.
